How safe is the cloud?
To get a pulse on perceived risks and other factors impeding organizations from moving sensitive data to the cloud, database security firm HexaTier Ltd. surveyed 574 information technology professionals and thought leaders. The results were compiled in a new report titled Database as a Service (DBaaS) Security Research 2016.
While organizations remain hesitant about moving forward, progress has been made. "Enterprises understand the value the cloud offers; nearly half of the companies we surveyed are already evaluating or using DBaaS providers," said Dan Dinnar, Chief Executive Officer of HexaTier. "Yet they need to find new ways to secure their data and comply with regulations." Twenty percent felt moving to a DBaaS model was inevitable.
