iCareCard launches charity-focused card
iCareCard, a Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based ISO, unveiled the Visa Inc.-branded iCareCard that offers cardholders a way to reward local charities when they make payments with the prepaid card. "Our philosophy is manage, save, give," said Larry Kane, Chief Executive Officer of iCareCard. "We want to use the iCareCard as a way to save people money and also generate money for their chosen causes."
According to iCareCard, the card rebates cardholders 3 cents per gallon on gas purchased anywhere in the United States. Additionally, users get 5 cents cash back on any spending of $10 or more with the card, and they can direct another 2 cents to any charity or nonprofit of their choice. iCareCard users can also earn as much as $25 per month for referring others to use the card.
"All this comes from our revenue, not the card holder," Kane said. "We provide our card holders with an opportunity to manage money, save money and provide support to their nonprofits. We want to be pushing back as much as possible and help everybody out a bit."
